Jabsco developed the flexible impeller pump more than 60 years ago, and the same principle still drives many engine cooling, bilge and transfer pumps today. Jabsco is part of Xylem, as are Rule bilge pumps.
According to the manufacturer, Jabsco is the world’s largest maker of small-craft marine toilets. Its manual and electric toilets are standard equipment on boats from many major builders and are serviced in marinas around the world.

The Twist n’ Lock toilet needs no power and can be serviced without special tools. Locking the handle down stops flush water from flowing back into the bowl.
An electric toilet flushes at the push of a button. Flush water is taken either from outside the hull by a pump or from the boat’s pressurised fresh water system through a solenoid valve.
Par-Max is a self-priming diaphragm pump with a built-in pressure switch. It can run dry without damage, and quick-connect ports make installation and replacement fast.
HotShot starts automatically when the spray nozzle trigger is squeezed. Use it to wash the deck, anchor chain and fishing gear with seawater.
A macerator blade breaks up toilet waste before the impeller, so waste water passes through smaller hoses. Diaphragm pumps tolerate dry running and need no separate strainer.
Bronze-bodied impeller pumps for engine cooling, liquid transfer and continuous duty, with flange, pedestal or electromagnetic clutch drive.
The impeller is the pump’s main wear part. Choose it by the pump model number and in the same rubber compound as the original.
Seals and parts for Jabsco toilets are available by model year, so even an older toilet can be rebuilt. Comfort models built from 2018 onwards carry a logo on the hinge.
Amazon diaphragm pumps work without power and make a good back-up to an electric bilge pump.
Many Jabsco electric pumps and electric toilets meet the ignition protection requirements of ISO 8846 and USCG 183.410. An ignition-protected device will not ignite surrounding fuel vapour, so it can also be installed in the engine space of petrol-powered boats.

Neoprene is the standard choice for water and engine cooling water. Nitrile resists oil and diesel better. As a rule, choose the same compound as the original impeller.
Size the pump by the number of outlets: Par-Max 1 and 2 serve two outlets, Par-Max 3 and HD3 three, and HD4–HD6 four or more.
