Lopolight introduced the first fully integrated LED navigation light more than 15 years ago. The lights are designed and manufactured in Denmark and are used on everything from ocean racing yachts to commercial vessels.
The electronics are fully potted, so there is no air inside the housing for moisture to condense in. The lights withstand shock and vibration, and EMI shielding prevents interference with VHF, AIS and radar. Lenses are UV-stable acrylic and housings anodised aluminium.
Marine Import Oy is the official Lopolight distributor in Finland. We keep the most common models in stock in Luvia, and stock items are dispatched within 1–3 working days. We also deliver to business customers in the Baltics, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Poland.
Choose a light by its arc and visibility range. Housings are black, silver or white depending on the model. Individual models and availability are listed in our Captains Shop online store (in Finnish).
Red to port and green to starboard, each over 112.5 degrees. Smaller boats can also use a combined bicolour light.
White stern light over 135 degrees. A version with a longer cable makes installation easier when the light sits far from the switch panel.
White masthead light over 225 degrees for motoring. Also available combined with a deck light, so only one fitting is needed on the mast.
A white 360-degree light serves as an anchor light and, on small craft, as a combined masthead and stern light.
A deck light lights up the deck at night for sail handling and mooring. The spreader-mounted model lights the deck from above.
A dimmer lets you reduce the light output when full power dazzles, for example on inland waters or in harbour.
Lopolight’s professional series include MED-approved (wheelmark) lights for commercial vessels, workboats and authorities. Models we do not stock are ordered from the manufacturer.
The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG 72) set how far each light must be visible. The longer the vessel, the further the light must reach.
The table shows the minimum ranges in nautical miles for a power-driven vessel. Tell us the length and use of the vessel and we will put together the right lights.
| Vessel length | Masthead | Sidelights | Stern | All-round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| under 12 m | 2 nm | 1 nm | 2 nm | 2 nm |
| 12–20 m | 3 nm | 2 nm | 2 nm | 2 nm |
| 20–50 m | 5 nm | 2 nm | 2 nm | 2 nm |
COLREG 72, Rule 22. Requirements for sailing and special vessels may differ; check the requirement for your vessel.
Lopolight lights are certified to COLREG 72. The professional series include lights approved under the EU Marine Equipment Directive (MED), marked with the wheelmark. The lights also carry USCG and DNV approvals.
Approvals are model-specific. Tell us the type and use of the vessel and we will supply the right models with their approval certificates for procurement or survey.
